Biodiversity (i.e. the diversity of life on Earth) is currently a much-discussed environmental aspect that has a lot to offer society and the economy (e.g. raw materials, clean water, recreational spaces). Even if they are not always fully aware of it, companies have many links with biodiversity, for example when they use raw materials or design their sites. Their activities may be beneficial for or detrimental to biodiversity. Political efforts to limit the dramatic decline in biodiversity are increasingly impacting on those in the business arena (cf. the Swiss Federal Government’s Biodiversity Strategy).
We support authorities in further developing existing approaches and methods, and advise companies on how to assess and evaluate their dependence on ecosystem services and their effects on biodiversity, adapting sustainability management instruments to our customers’ needs as required.
