Electrical safety in operation
Typical devices are
- Laboratory facilities
- Measuring and control equipment
- Power supply units
- Heaters
- Electric hand tools
- Lights that are not part of the installation
- Consumer electronics
- Information and communication technology (computers, telephones, scanners, radios, etc.)
- Extension cable
- Private electrical appliances in the company (e.g. coffee machines, kettles, radios, fan heaters, refrigerators)
This is particularly important if the devices are exposed to harmful influences such as heat, cold and corrosive gases and substances (see Art. 32b para. 1 of the VUV).
Neosys supports you in the area of electrical safety with:
- Risk assessments and electrical safety concepts
- Maintenance plans and device directories
- Laws, regulations and guidelines
These serve as an aid and show you what measures need to be taken to keep the work equipment in a proper and safe condition.
With our help, you can create a safe working environment in which the most common accidents associated with electricity can be avoided. These include injuries caused by electric shock due to malfunctioning work equipment, injuries caused by overheated work equipment, fires and explosions.
Remember that as an employer you are responsible for ensuring that the equipment tests are actually carried out and that the working environment in your company is free from electrical hazards.
Please note: Electrical appliances may only be repaired and maintained by a specialist company or by a specialist (company electrician). After each repair, the specialist must carry out and document an electrical safety test. We recommend that you carry out a test with an appliance tester.
